Hakim Owen is a formerly incarcerated activist based in the East Bay. While incarcerated, he served as a high school/GED tutor, created a class on Black Cultural Awareness, and served as a computer teacher’s assistant. He now works for Alameda County as a Peer Counselor to help other develop hope and improve their lives.
