Building People Power

VOTE NO on PROP 36
“The major job was getting people to understand that they had something within their power that they could use.”

About Ella Baker Center Action Fund

Like our namesake Ella Baker, we understand that true power lies within the people. Ella Baker Center Action Fund was born out of the vision to further build power amongst those most impacted by systems of punishment and policing.

We are mobilizing to oppose Prop 36, a dangerous ballot initiative that will add longer prison sentences and reduce funding for community services.

UPCOMING ELECTIONS

 Election Day: November 5, 2024

Congress

The United States Congress has an incredible amount of power and impact on our communities. They create national laws that impact the safety and security of our people.

Alameda County Board of Supervisors

Through the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, we can move money and resources, and call for action that invests our dollars in programs that make sense for our community. Alameda County has one of the largest reserves of any county in the state, and is not yet putting those resources towards the public health solutions that we’ve called for. With progressive leadership at the helm, we can build the strong social safety net that our community deserves.
